Extended highlights of the Colorado Avalanche at the St. Louis Blues

  • As a blues fan I’m disappointed and the loss hurts. I gotta say though, the avalanche outplayed us nearly the whole game and we just couldn’t skate with them tonight. They deserved the win.

    • @Metal Detroit based on what? I'm neither defending Kadri nor condemning him. I'm going by the tape and the rules. You cannot issue a different set of rules for someone based on their reputation. Binnington's a goon. Worry about that first otherwise you sound disingenuous and hypocritical.

      David LyonsDavid Lyons2 ай бұрын
    • @Metal Detroit yeah, well unfortunately you're a man on an island then. Goalies get rushed all the time. Sometimes there's a call sometimes there's not. Context context context. The way in which those calls are assessed is determined by the situation. If there wasn't a puck in play exactly as the tape reveals you'd have something to argue. You have nothing here. Go watch the tape and take reputation, i.e. prejudice, out of it and you show a rule that will support your argument in those circumstances.

      David LyonsDavid Lyons2 ай бұрын
    • @David Lyons Kadri is a goon. The fact that you can’t accept that shows your bias and willing blindness to the fact/

      Metal DetroitMetal Detroit2 ай бұрын
    • @David Lyons I don’t know what “your team” you’re referring to. You don’t run full speed into the goalie. You take an angle so you don’t end up running the goalie. Kadri didn’t. And he’s done the same thing many times.

The next two years they were the favorites and had high expectations, but it also happened to be unconventional seasons during a pandemic. Even this season was another year out of the norm, since it included an expansion draft.

    • I dont see why kuemper is getting so much heat. He gave up 2 goals on the road, neither of which were him necessarily botching anything. Two great shots, yhe second of which noone would have gotten to. He over committed a bit, but was a perfect play. If he cheats to the weak side, he gets beat to his left. The problem was the turnover therr, not the goalie. And still it was enough to send them to the next round. Mansons play was incredible, and Kuemper was out of position...but it was also on a power play which everything pretty much flies out the window. Its all hands on deck wherever and whenever its needed.

  • Glad that the game ended with giving the Blues a taste of their own medicine. Last game Blues scored a goal at the end of regulation when no one was expecting it and while the home crowd's hopes were at a peak, then the OT game winner was just one of those "shoot it from deep and hope it goes in" kind of shots. Helm's goal was all of that wrapped up into one.

  • Not really an Avs fan but I picked Colorado to win it all. I just think they're a really well built team.

  • The thing I noticed as I was screaming at my tv at the Avs to score. Was to shoot it above is Glove side shoulder. All 3 goals went above there.

  • From a red wings fan, way to go Avs! Rooting for you guys! (Wow. I knew the Avs won but I forgot they even had Helm on their team and immediately after posting this saw Helm scored with 6 seconds left) The dude was a beast for our team too, and when we needed him to be especially.

    • @Rockmyballsprettyplease lol I don't. Had a Colorado fan tell me he's rooting for the wings a month or two ago. I got nothing against the blues and I was all about the old avs wings rivalry. Helm spent a good part of career being one of the clutchest when he was called on in Detroit. I'm over rivalries for the most part other than screw Boston. Easier to say when you're team is building and not back in the playoffs yet though. You guys had a good run for sure.

  • Alright I've heard enough. It was a great series, and the Colorado Avalanche was the better team. No Nazem Kadri did not crash into Jordan Binnington. Calle Rosen, and Kadri tried to stop. Neither one of them is really that big either. Jordan's just a wimp. Also I'm sick of the argument that if Jordan Binnington was in net the series would've been extended to game 7, and St. Louis may have even won. If it wasn't for Ville Husso the Blues wouldn't even be in the playoffs. Plus the Avalanche beat Binnington the first game in overtime with substantially less shots. Ville Husso did amazing considering how many more shots he faced than the games Binnington played. Ville is just as good as Jordan. Maybe not 2019 Binnington good. But definitely 2022 Binnington good. The Blues just suck. They were just too slow, and not as talented as the Avalanche.
