  • Great video 😎 I usually do that while it's still on the car 🤣 I cut it down the seam line with a stanley knife, then I use good quality superglue a bit at a time to glue it back together, usually takes less than 15 mins

  • In the US, it's generally less expensive to buy an entire CV shaft assembly than it is to pay for the labor to replace a joint, so nobody really does this here.

  • You must push it half stroke or in tvOS case spin it to one full side let the air escape then put your second belt. Then when the shaft works the air and grase moves inside Of the CV joint boot and lubricates the entire assembly

  • You really did a good job the only thing I have to say is you need to pack more grease in that boot before you close that up next time. You didn't put nowhere near enough grease. You supposed to pack that boot full. Close the small side with a clamp first then pack the boot good then pop it on. You will extend the life of the bearings in that CV shaft

  • I appreciate the effort but if the customer doesn't want to buy a new axle there's always decent reman axles available. If that inside boot cracks within the next year then you're doing that axle again for free.

  • Doing a car repair in 45 minutes, but then charging 3 hours for labor because that is what "the book says it takes" should be considered theft, fraud, scam or whatever. Besides, fast doesn't mean it's done right.
