    • @Valerie Blandford that's how the promotion system works. Inadequate idiots promote even more inadequate idiots so that they never have to compete for the available jobs. There's no way of circumventing the politics. The elites look after their own. They won't accept any threat to themselves by allowing a dissenting (common sense or capable) opinion reaching the same rank as them.

    • Theres a common ideological thread that seems linked to so much of societies current woes - policing policy, energy policy, public health policies, pandemic response policies, freedom of speech governance, agricultural policies. Seems unlikely we'll ever publicly acknowledge the root cause - most are blissfully ignorant. We're all Kulaks now. 'We didn't love freedom enough. And even more - we had no awareness of the real situation... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.' *-Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn , The Gulag Archipelago*

    • @Peeler i agree police time is wasted on mal comms often but much of that has been at the direction of govt. Common Assault wasnt even recorded as a crime years ago. Each time a govt knee jerks to a flash in the pan stirred up by the press, more needless offences are created that need recording and investigating. BUT I maintain that "woke" activity is miniscule and not in responsible for the collapse in performance. That rests squarely with the tories. Quite why Murray worries about this being the last tory home sec, when its the tories that are responsible, is anyone's guess

I grew up in the 60's on a council estate in the North West of England and was told every day, by my parents, about right and wrong and showing respect to my elders; police, teachers etc. I'm not sure they would comprehend what has happened to our police force today, simply not fit for purpose.

    • Likewise (although I grew up in different circumstances!); as a child of the 50s I am totally bemused & terrified by the current state of Great Britain. We were a country the world looked to for leadership but I’d be very surprised if that still truly obtained. We have squandered and surrendered our stature by pandering to the most lunatic ideas ever to have come out of the Soviet Union & the COMINTERN. As commented elsewhere, Yuri Besmenov (KGB defector & whistle-blower) explains this perfectly: the Soviets & their successors cannot have ever dreamt that their stratagems could have such incredible success! If only they’d realised that their place-men and sleepers had penetrated right to the heart of our society and perverted even the highest echelons!

  • 2 years ago I called the police because people over the road from me were arguing and one threatened to burn the others house down while she and her kids slept in it (both women involved) I recorded all of this in 4k with sound because I thought it would be important evidence. I'm still waiting for the police to get that evidence, I left my name, my address, phone number and email address... nothing. A recorded threat to 4 lives and they didn't think it was important. 3 months after this one of the women stabbed the other, should have said they're from the enrichment community, the police might have turned up if it had be racial.

    • @Leif Goodwin oh I've complained mate, I even went to my M.P. about it, I even went as far as sending him a copy of the video I'd recorded. First I sent it attached to an email but got no reply so I sent it recorded post on a DVD as it was the only way I could check on that he had received the disc. I he got it, or at least his office did, still no response. I'd argue that I've made my self a pain in the rear over this, I shouldn't have had to but when one doesn't feel listened to regarding a serious incident they tend to become more extreme. I believe I've done us much as is reasonably warranted, maybe even stepped outside of that, but it was necessary as it was a serious incident, a threat to life, but no one in authority cares. If the police had taken this evidence in a timely manner children may not have had to witness another person getting hurt like that but it seems its just another day in the office these days.

      Martyn JamesMartyn JamesАй бұрын
    • @Martyn James That’s sad. Surely you should complain that no action was taken on the first complaint, three months before the actual physical attack.

      Leif GoodwinLeif GoodwinАй бұрын
    • @Leif Goodwin hahaha. Funnily enough they were arguing because one of the women had stolen the girlfriend of the other. Both women have kids and they've managed to raise them horribly; rude, unaware or don't care about people's personal property and the clear boundary a fence implies. I've caught them in our garden, trying to nick our stuff before. One of them broke into my neighbours house when he was 11 years old, my neighbour is an 80+ year old woman who lives alone, the kind of person we are supposed to care for and be considerate of, these kids haven't been taught any of that. We had to get a C.C.T.V. system to protect our garden and the property we have in it, not that the police would care if something was stolen.

  • Hes right about the police, I live in west midlands and recently my family member had all their expensive bikes stolen, police did literally nothing. My friends car got scratched up £1000s worth of damage, we know who did it, we literally have footage of it but it was at a B&B and the police never did anything about it. We just stopped getting a response.

  • When I first came to this country I was so impressed by the British police. I am so disappointed in their slow change into a woke PC brigade. What hope is there for us law abiding citizens when the police are trying to appease one section of society to the detriment of cracking down on crime?

I was horrified even after all we have been fed re the police over the past couple of years, to hear you have been "Threatened" by these ner do wells. Both Thompson whose authority should be on special measures and this woman whose authority IS, should be sacked .. How dare these bully people threaten those who pay their wages.. Is there any point complaining to the New Home Secretary, certainly not my M.P who is the force behind the shut everyone up bill. Hell in Hand cart comes to mind. When are the people in this country going to wake up and stand up and be counted. 100 per cent behind you Douglas

  • Great presentation from Douglas Murray. The problem with the police is a combination of laziness and cowardice. Much less effort required policing journalists than actually confronting criminals. It's outrageous.

  • I remember hearing, perhaps from Douglas, a while back, that what we want from Nike is shoes, not ethics or virtue advice. Reminds me of that. If the police would focus on their tasks and leave the rest alone, we'd be better off as a species.

  • It was well established and documented in mainstream journalism (including the BBC) and in a formal investigation by Parliament that a major reason why the massive Rotherham rape/grooming scandal did not come to light before there were well over a thousand victims was that the police and social service agencies were afraid to act for fear of being accused of racism; all the perps were Islamic men. Multiple people at various levels admitted to this, and it was absolutely accepted as the reason for the reluctant police response: Wokeism and fear of being called "racist" were major factors allowing these crimes to continue on a mass scale for years. Nothing else ever need be said about the dangers of woke attitudes within the police in Britain.

  • If I lived in the UK, I would be very concerned by this threat, not laughing about it. The obvious politicization of the police force and the lackadaisical attitude of the government will eventually lead to a legalised mafia in uniform.
