  • Of all the elements, I've been most excited for Arc 3.0 since the beginning. It's easily the worst across all classes in endgame PvE, and is probably going to require some deep changes to fix that. I don't want Bungie to just settle with it being a good early to mid-game subclass. I want to see them push it to GMs and contest mode raids

    • @Friendly Fire Gaming Very true -- there's some shenanigans going on right now with solar titan bonk, but yeah. Tcrash + Cuirass is one of the best options right now, not only for Titan, but for any character. You get the big burst damage AND the aftershock damage from Tcrash, and you get the over shield so you can go right back to dealing weapon damage. I still feel like Celestial Nighthawk should deal more damage than Cuirass or big nova because it's single target and not AOE, and you have to land a crit. The counter argument to that is that it's a ranged attack and not a melee attack like Tcrash, but Cuirass gives you the over shield which negates risk so... I still would like to see Celestial get a buff. The bubble nerf pushed me away from being a Titan main for day 1 contest raiding and I've swapped to Void hunter and I ain't looking back. Especially not after finally landing a good Omnioculus roll from GMs this season :)

    • Wouldn't say easily the worst. Since the bubble nerf made it completely pointless compared to Well lf Radiance, Thundercrash + Cuirass Titan is basically the only raiid Titan that has any right to exist for boss/DPS encounters.

  • When Forsaken launched and Hunter got spin staff, I was so disappointed that it wasn't fundamentally different than the other trees like Titan and Warlock. 3.0 is a great opportunity to introduce an actual new super. Personally I'd love to see something like a throwing javelin with arc lighting. Think Zeus from mythology. Perhaps they stick where thrown to and provide mob control with chained lighting to the area they're stuck.

    • This is literally what I was just talking with my friends about. An arc spear or javelin would have been new and unique and changed the flow of the class up. Instead of being a guy only good at add clear, somewhat, and having to be in the middle of the fight and risk death, you could stand back and throw the spear and chain lighting to add clear faster and better. You'd also have a super that's more useful for boss damage now as well, instead of just sticking to BB or Marksman Goldy or Tether. The whole "you block better now" thing sucked and was a big slap in the face seeing the other two classes get new and cool supers.

    • Something I kind.of wanted to see but is a huge a support.super in line with bubble and well since those are Void and solar it makes.sense that Arc could get one with hunter but it is highly unlikely but what would be cool is like the hunter driving his staff straight into the ground and turning it into those Arc things from season of risen but both you are allies are able to use them, it would be way to broken in pvp thou lol

  • My biggest hope for arc is that we get some form of survivability. Solar gets stuff like cure and restoration, void gets devour and overshields, and stasis gets DR and cuts off damage. Arc has very little outside of healing rift, which is why I hesitate to take it into higher level content.

    • Try playing a Titan with thundercrash. We have no healing rift. We have nothing that heals lol. I want arc 3.0 to give the striker class some form of survivability. It has none. Running cuirass with thundercrash is always so awesome, but it's hard to stay alive sometimes in GMs.

    • Getaway with No Time for pvp is broke IFFFF you have great aim. Looking forward to see if arc buddy gets any changes . Saying that I think this weapon and armor combo is going to be OP counter to standard PvP meta like it's was already just stronger

    • I would be ok with it being tied to the exotic armor. I think that would make getaway artist pretty useful, especially if arc souls become a aspect they'll already be supercharged. Although they already did that to contraverse holds.

  • Based on the Coldheart rework, I’m actually thinking that Ionic Traces are probably going to be an Arc Keyword alongside whatever form of Speed buff we end up with. I would hope that Arc gets some kind of defensive mechanic to work with or it will make the CQC oriented Arcstider and Striker harder to use as content scales up in damage. I don’t know if Resist alone would be enough, but that’s the only mechanic that seems to be left if Void/Stasis are claiming Overshields and Solar claiming healing (cure/restoration). But if there is still supposed to be a shared melee boost, I’m not sure what effects fit where. As for debuffs, I expect blind to be the one they go with. Void weaken and suppression still have the disorient wording in their descriptions. So I’m thinking disorient plus another effect will make up blind. Arc chains should obviously be another negative Arc effect. Bungie stated that “chaining” would be a focus in the ViDoc if memory serves. If there is a third debuff, my guess is that it would be some form of the Arcstrider electrify effect from Ebb and Flow. Stormcaller seems like a rather straightforward conversion compared to Dawnblade. But speaking as a Warlock, I am a bit nervous about the Arc Titan and Hunter reworks. I hope they get more defined identities beyond punching stuff. Not removing the punchiness, but adding to it. Oh, edit: With Dawnblade and Gunslinger getting unique class ability replacements, I’m wondering if they consider Shift as an Arcstider specific Dodge? That feels safer to me than allowing them to stack Blink and Dodge.

    • @Defiant Mars i meant it as in you dont need to build into anything or do anything special for them, just like how they work on middle tree stormcaller currenty. Just get kills of any kind and theyll occasionally spawn. Since they'll just be intrinsic to all 3 subclasses it'd be like another ability to design stuff around (grenade, melee, class ability, super, and ionic traces), expanding how aspects and fragments can be designed and balanced.

    • @Defiant Mars I think the difference here is keywords as a goal (In Stasis, I want to Shatter crystals; In Solar, I want to create Ignitions) as compared to keywords as a process/step to achieve the goal (I want to create crystals; I want to apply scorch). The way that Ionic Trace currently exists, they are closer to keywords as a process - I want to create Ionic Traces because they speed up my Super - but, also, they only serve one specific purpose. If Ionic Traces do become a universal keyword then I think they would be that repeatable part of the gameplay loop. However, they might end up behaving a little bit differently to how they do currently, otherwise they're just mini elemental wells. I suspect that instead they'll operate as some kind of stacking buff which will interact with other fragments/aspects/abilities in different ways. And if Ionic Traces generated by one player can be picked up by anyone, I could even imagine a new Arc weapon perk along the lines of "picking up an Ionic Trace partially reloads this weapon from reserves".

    • @Piequila Can you expand on what you mean by "baseline intrinsic"? I'm having a hard time envisioning how that would work. Since the closest analogue is the Stasis Shards and the Stasis subclasses need an Aspect to generate them.

  • For hunters, I am praying to god that we get a super that turns the arc staff into the synaptic spear and the Valkyrie, where get to chuck the staff like a javelin. I think that would get more use than the arc staff

  • Something that was mentioned by devs last season: The psiops spear thing was designed partially to test *something* that was intended for arc 3.0. I think it's the dash on grenade button, so I'm hoping hunters get an extended dash similar to Mask of Bakris, but as an aspect rather than an exotic

    • Honestly I'd rather it be an alternate class ability like acrobat's or phoenix dive. I much prefer dodge as a movement/survivability tool rather than a CD management tool that happens to move you a little bit. Considering that Arcstrider already has damage resist on dodge, I feel that a variant which focuses more on the defensive/mobility aspect of it would be neat.

  • What they could and should do with the “Deflect” exotics (Blight Ranger/Raiju’s Harness) is focus on an offensive blocking style and a defensive blocking style, respectively. Blight Ranger seems like it’s made for blocking big damage and throwing it back harder while staying in the fray of battle. A cool effect to give it would be that combatants hit with redirected shots would chain lightning to other nearby combatants, allowing for solid group damage at a distance. Chain Lightning will most likely be a big part of Arc 3.0, so this would be a sizable improvement to its offense. Raiju’s Harness, on the other hand, seems like it was designed to have the user pop Super when in danger, block for a bit to reposition, and then deactivate-an on demand “oh shit” button. I think that a stacking bonus to a lingering damage resistance for the user and nearby Allie’s based on how much damage is blocked before deactivating the Super would be a great way to give it some utility. Alternatively, on Super activation, it should disorient all enemies in a somewhat moderate radius (say, 8-10m) to allow not only the user to get out of a sticky situation, but also any nearby allies.

    • I don't like the idea of using arc staff as an on demand "oh shit" button panic super like that. I think what a lot of people want from Arc Staff to make it viable in GM is to have some serious damage resistance, crowd control, or healing effects going on. Arc staff is NOT a bad super... you just need to play into the power fantasy and make it so dead things don't shoot back at you. However, it's going up against some STIFF competition with Void 3.0, and even Solar 3.0 doing pretty well right now. How viable Solar 3.0 will be in endgame content after Classy Restoration and etc get removed will be interesting. While losing Volatile rounds did hurt void, I still think invis finisher is one of the best fragments in the game. You get the damage reduction while finishing, then you turn invis for a long duration.

    • I feel some neutral game would also be nice; Raiju’s should apply chain lightning to enemies in intervals around you whenever you’re surrounded by combatants, and Blight Ranger should Blind enemies when your Super is full and critically wounded.

    • @Jaxx 1999 please don't give hunters more fucking shutdown supers. Hunters already have Shadowshot, shadowshot 2.0, blade barrage, and silence and squall. For roaming hunters only have spectral blades and arc staff (does golden gun even count as a roaming super?)

  • Ionic Traces I think will be an Arc 3.0 keyword and be baked into some of the Aspects and Fragments, most likely increasing the lethality of your abilities in some way (whether that be damage or increased ability regen). The reason I think this is because of the way changed Coldheart to spawn Ionic Traces (unless I'm thinking of the wrong Exotic).

    • @Fort I mean why not both? I think the exotics should be interesting and change the way the super plays like Nighthawk, which really is the gold standard for super modifying exotics, imo. If they make the supers good on their own and then make the exotics interesting ways to change how you play with them/what you use them for, I think it's a lot more interesting than just "buff numbers and also leave the exotics alone". I think getting into a false dichotomy on this isn't what anyone wants lol. Right now Geomag Chaos Reach and Falling Star Thundercrash are very usable, their problem is they aren't very interesting. Thundercrash with Falling Star is an excellent low commitment way for titan to do a lot of burst damage, compared to something like star-eater scales on hunter, and Geomag Chaos Reach is the best total damage super, since it lasts forever and you don't use any ammo for it, and the DPS is comparable to heavy ammo shenanigans last I checked. It's great for long dps phases. I'm not sure why more people don't run it against Rhulk tbh... But even though both of those options are very usable (and something doesn't need to be literally the best to be usable, some people are just allergic to mechanics I guess) the problem the exotics have imo is that they're not very interesting. You use them because you want your super to do more damage and that's it. It doesn't change how you use the super. I think this could be improved. I think even something like making the super weaker in exchange for having a lot more access to it would be interesting.

    • How about they make the supers better instead of changing how the exotics work? I agree that exotics shouldn’t be needed to make a super usable but the entire point of falling star and geomags is to directly buff your super when you use it

    • @2Juiced4Me YES. Arc has so many stupidly underwhelming super exotics too. Like why tf do we have THREE for arc staff? Just... Just squish two of them together, at LEAST. Raiju and Blight Ranger should've just been one exotic. Eternal Warrior is about to break the subclass identity stuff, overshields are supposed to be Void only now, so I can't see a world where it stays the same. Curiass is the only one worth using, and I think it's just a rung below Nighthawk on the interesting scale. Stormdancer's Brace has the potential to be interesting, since it's an effect that works only in super combined with something that makes you super more often, which I think is a good combo, but the super it's modifying needs a bit more OOMPFH on its own to really push it over the edge. Geomags aren't that interesting anymore since they don't top you off, and the crown is more like budget nezerac's sin for arc. There are so many boring do nothing super exotics for arc. Blight ranger is especially egregious, imo... idk how the designers thought that one was perfectly great to ship as is. It's a super only exotic, so people will just swap to it in pvp, but the effect isn't strong enough there to make a difference, and in pve the damage is still underwhelming af while also having the problem of just... you don't always get boss aggro, or they choose not to attack you, so it just does nothing. The only thing that makes sense to me is that they didn't have a second exotic ready for hunter for WQ, and so they took a half-finished one from the Arc rework season to fill the slot, and are looking to update it later. Only thing that makes sense to me.

    • ive been saying Geomag should have been reworked to be an Ionic Trace exotic since they were OPin Crucible and Trials. it makes sense, because they’re legs, they glow when charged, and Traces go along the ground to your legs. and I personally cannot stand Super Exotics. they’re so boring and only useful for like 5s every 3-5 min

    • Buff the base supers damage/duration substantially and then nerf the exotics to stay about the same for cuirass, and a little bit stronger for geomags. Then add some small neutral game benefit that utilizes arc 3.0 verbs. Geomag could buff Ionic Trace super energy and pickup radius (the perk is called Close Enough) while Cuirass could also buff ballistic slam. Cuirass could also give the Arc movement speed buff instead of an overshield which would make running back to a well for DPS even faster.

    • They said in a twab that they wanted to divide it along classes in this way: Hunters best at disorient, Titans best at "Electrify" whatever that means, Warlocks best at chaining. So I think that it's more likely that Arc souls become capable of chaining lightning than blinding. Also arc invis hunter: If everyone is blind they can't see you and you become invisible :). Hoping that electrify turns out really fun aswell.

  • I would absolutely LOVE to see Arc Staff reworked into an Instant Cast super, just like T-Crash vs Havoc / Dawnblade vs Well / Spectral Blades vs Lockdown Tether. I can imagine something where hunters can throw a single arc staff JAVELIN, blinding and chaining lightning to anything in a 15m range. You could throw this directly at a target for instant damage & add clear, just like blade barrage. You could yeet it at a control point to keep enemies off that point. ORRR imagine throwing it at your feet like a well of radiance, creating a crowd control zone like a protective tesla coil or lightning trophy system (shooting down grenades, colossus missiles, or Lucent Hive shield throws and knives, etc.). It'd have similar utility of Bubble or Well, but you would be able to throw it to your buddy across the map. You could even tap into the tesla coil similarities with the name - something like "lightning rod" or "Voltaic spear"

  • Here's my prediction. Titans will specialize in blinding, Warlocks will specialize in chain lightning and Hunters will specialize in "haste". Arc titans will be able to spam a lot of blinding with melee attacks, similar to how void shoulder charge suppresses. Warlocks, landfall will be base kit, arc web and arc soul will be aspects. Arc web will probably be the "never take off" aspect. Hunters will be able to buff their and their team's movement, electrostatic charge will possibly be given to hunters and they will be zooming around at terrifying speeds like the cokehead racecars they were born to be. Top tree will probably an entire aspect. I'm hoping for a piercing javelin throw you can then call back as a super alternative. And fingers crossed, blink.

    • Hard disagree, it makes more sense for Titans to be the "haste" ones, their identity as Strikers is all about being an unstoppable force that runs straight into battle creating chaos and punching everything to death recklessly. Arc Hunters on the other hand are supposed to be the martial artists, so dodging, weaving attacks and outplaying the enemy with confusing movements while also being more on the defensive, yet counter-attacking nature, meaning a lot of utility comes into play, meaning disorients are more befitting them.

    • @Galaar Same here. Liars Combo is amazing. It has been my goto for the past year typically, unless needing ranged for things like GMs of course. But for non-Master/GM content it makes you very hardy as long as you can get in melee range easily. That and the stun lock is fun.

    • maybe they could let geomags turn it into the beam and make the duration last longer and damage, while reworking the super normally so you jump up and target and area that lets you blast off up to 3 or so giant lighting strikes/storms i can see arc warlock using tesla style skills like a new melee or grenade that sticks to an area and pulses lighting between them or summons lighting bolts to them maybe every time you shoot it the energy gathers and then hits for way more damage that what you did to it ?

  • We’re also definitely getting an arc titan and arc warlock exotic next season. Hunter will get void. Maybe blight ranger gets changed sorta like how lorley got changed. I could see arc soul becoming a unique rift option. Ionic traces are probably going to be some sort of fragment because coldheart got the ability to generate them. Hunters should get a new super, would be disappointing if they didn’t and I think tempest strike will be a melee. Bungie seems to want powered melees to be more than a basic slap with an effect. Titan is just going to be strong for the same reason solar 3.0 was good for them. Basically middle tree plus even more bonuses. I’m sure a lot of work needs to go into arc so it will be nice to see all the new aspects and changes.

  • I'd imagine one of the keywords for arc would be Discharge, much similar to Ignite but when an enemy Discharges they chain lighting to anything nearby and maybe blinds them through a fragment or gives you a speed buff/ handling, similar to whisper of Hedrons for Stasis. Just one idea I had tho

    • 100% this. Void has Volatile and Solar has Ignite. Arc getting its own version of AoE damage built in makes perfect sense. Blind being built into arc also makes a lot of sense given Void has Suppression outside of just the grenades and such.

  • I really hope Bungie would tune up Fist of Havoc in PvE and let us play as rampaging gorilla bashing and slamming everything in sight. Giving Eternal Warrior an additional passive similar to Raiden Flux or using it enhances the Fist of Havoc like farther lunge range, bigger AoE, and/or heal us for each enemy killed.

    • You know you might be on to something. For Nighstalker they created a new dodge animation for Vanishing Step, and for Gunslinger they created another new dodge animation and function for Acrobat's Dodge, so it stands to reason that Arcstrider would therefore also get a new dodge animation tied to it for some purpose.

    • @Eight Bit yes, but you need to use an exotic, and it only works on Revenant (and it replaces whatever dodge you select). I’m talking about a whole other dodge that you can pick in the menu (or an aspect) similar to what we see in solar with acrobat dodge

  • When talking about Hunters hopefully getting a new arc super. I just got this image in my mind of a Hunter throwing the arc staff like a javelin into a pack of enemies, causing a chain-lightning "pull" to the staff and exploding with a blinding effect, then rematerializing in the Hunters hand.

  • I've commented this somewhere a while back about the Blight Ranger Helmet exotic that nobody uses. I think that Hunters will get their basic melee replaced with an arc staff hit. And that hit will reflect projectiles. This would make the Blight Ranger make sense, as it would amplify your basic melee reflects, and not just work on a super.

    • iirc that helmet's been broken a long time right? I wouldn't be overly surprised if it turns out it's "broken" because they already had the 3.0s already put together and made the exotic fit with Arc 3.0, but because we're still on 2.0 it doesn't work properly.

  • I really want something like Zeus in smite. Creating stacks on target to do x. Consume the stacks with holding grenade or something to either burst dmg, blind, stun. Up to 5 stacks, the more you have the longer the stun/blind or bigger the dmg

    • @Josh Smith I'm not sure how its anything like ignition/scorch. Do you understand the Zeus smite reference? The character Zeus goes against will have up to 5 orbs circling them for every ability or auto Zeus hits. Those orbs do nothing unless he activates an ability, consuming them to do dmg. Ignition is just passively doing fire dmg until boom. I want to be able to decide when, with a button press, and what (stun, blind, dmg), with a fragment. But I bet they aren't going to do anything close.

  • My personal take: Titan: ok as it is. Couple tweaks: Make one version of fist of havoc. Remove the sprint requirement for Ballistic Slam. Warlock: arc soul aspect, maybe make arc souls intrinsically Overload as well. Combine the stormtrance specials Hunter: have only 1 type of arc staff, with whirlwind guard and deadly reach. New super: Arc Javelin (projectile based arc super) or something like "Lightning rod: Stab your staff in the ground causing are damage and setting up a zone. Energy projectiles are absorbed, other damage is reduced. Allies inside zone gain (buzz word buff)". I think that's the best way. Arc Buffs/ Unique traits: disorient, self explanatory. Magnetise: enemies effected are pulled together. Overclock: increase ability regeneration and reload speed for a short duration. Chained: enemies are slowed and chain lightning to other enemies around them.

  • I imagine instant reloads and slides to be a part of all of the subclasses. Ionic Traces are definitely going to be common, along with chain lightning, and blinding. I would want damage reduction to be an Arc staple, but one thing I absolutely want is retributive damage. Something like Feedback Fence but with chain lightning rather than a burst.

  • I hope arc 3.0 makes me want to use it again as a hunter. I was a arc main back in year 1 of d1 but void got introduced that was my go to. Stasis was fun. blade barrage made solar ok bacl a few years ago and solar 3.0 made it almost as fun as void/stasis. I hope 3.0 can do the same and not make me be like "dam really" whenever i need to switch to the ark sub class

  • I would love to see the "keywords" (ignite/burn/etc) be used to buff ourselves. I don't really want another subclass that affects the enemies directly. I want to see bungie implement some sort of movement speed/jump height/melee range increase for killing enemies that are affect with "shock" or something. Once you've collected enough you become "charged", you move faster and/or jump higher and/or increased melee range while having an small electric field around you that micro stuns. Maybe ionic traces are no longer warlock specific, and that becomes what grants you the buffs? IDK i'm rambling. I just want to run fast with my shotty, glaive, and sword wrecking havoc on enemies up close.

    • @Woomyboy98 Yeah if they did that I agree that it might be a bit too similar to Volatile, and then we're kinda back to the old problem of "the light sublasses are kinda just different flavors of space magic and don't have much of a unique identity". I think it's an interesting idea to have smaller guys straight up die to an increasing intensity of burn, and have the big beefy guys burn to the point they blow up. It makes the explosions more of a "hitting a boss with scorch will eventually cause them to blow up/will eventually kill that red bar, it might just take a while." I think trading time for kills on redbois like that is a neat idea. Maybe certain enemies could be more resistant to scorch so it stacks up slower on them, or something.

    • @Elizabeth Hicks If they made things ignite on death if they're scorched that would make ignite so much more useful for ad clear in all levels, in low content everything dies too fast to spread around scorch, in mid level content it can sometimes spread around but for most enemies it will just die out before spreading too much, in high level content scorch spreads like well wild fire thanks to everything having huge heath bars. Making a fragment that does something like "scorched targets ignite on death" would be very helpful, although I guess that would run a little too close to how volatile works though.

    • @Arramis Castellon Well, solar has Heal, Regen, and Radiant on the buffs side. The debuffs are lacking, though. I think scorch damage should apply more stacks of scorch, so you can hit a small guy with it and he burns to death (if he survived the hit that scorched him) or the big guy burns and burns which gets worse and worse and worse until he blows up, at which point you could slap more scorch on him. It doesn't need to stack fast, but the fact that they just... stop being on fire after a bit feels a bit bad. Keep the current behavior for pvp tho.

  • I imagine a new hunter super can be something hunters can place down, similar to ward of dawn and well of radiance. Arc Super name: Thunder Storm The hunter places down an enlarged supercharged arc staff into the ground, creating a relatively big area of affect that causes lighting to shoot down from the sky causing damage, chaining, and blinding for anything that is within its radius.

  • 1:23 Actually Datto switching between insurmountable skullfort and falling star is very very very good and I use this in any activity I use middle tree Titan. Before solar 3.0 and void 3.0 this was my go to in every activity, even in gambit. You can slam down and get a lot of super energy due to Impact Conversion on middle tree and get my melee back instantly due to insurmountable allowing me to spam slam untill I got my super really fast. Then I switch to falling star, use super on a boss or champion then switch back to insurmountable skullfort. Rinse repeat.

  • So personal thoughts, in Solar 3.0 Bombadiers got a change that in arc says "blinds" so I honestly think that the reason Solar 3.0 got shipped earlier than expected was cause they have to balance blinding so it's not broken like blinding GL's. could be completely different but it would make sense.

  • For Titans in Arc 3.0 I really want to see the Super have an OG Fist of Havoc option - Thundercrash is awkward as a shutdown super compared to D1's Fist of Havoc. I know we have Fists of Havoc but the devastation and quickness of Death From Above, Aftermath and/ or Shockwave is unparalleled

Like Maybe hunters throw multiple staffs in a circle which chain react lighting around the staffs and any gunshot that hits the wall of lighting either do reduced damage or outright stops the bullet. I would just love to see hunters finally get a utility super like warlocks and titans.

  • -I can see ionic traces being a name specific mechanic for arc on all classes, with having inertia override being a fragment for all characters, possibly a fragment that makes it so ionic traces activate inertia rather than just any ammo on the ground. pulsewave could be a fragment. -I can see crown of tempests exotic ability being just an aspect for warlocks. -I hope that arc web or chain lightning become name specific mechanic for arc on all classes, if not that then ebb and flow. something with blinding after a certain number of stacks. -I can see there being a fragment similar to solar's ember of tempering, which increases recovery for you and your teammates for a short time that stacks up to 3x by getting solar weapon kills. For getting arc weapon kills you'll get a temporary increase to resilience (which also means damage resistance) for a short time that stacks 3x. -I can see electrostatic surge being slightly reworked to be a name specific mechanic for arc on all classes. -This is more of a shot in the dark but, maybe they'll make a fragment chain lightning rounds similar to volatile rounds on void, the main difference being that to activate it you need arc melee kills instead of void grenades. - both solar and void have name specific mechanics that have cooldown extensions in fragments. For solar it involves extending radiant and restoration, for void it involves extending invisibility over-shield and devour. So, arc will most likely have one as well. I bet it will extend a name specific mechanic that reduces the cooldown of our super. This tracks with the buffs each of the other extensions give, void focuses on refunding grenade energy (discipline), solar focuses on refunding melee energy (strength), so arc could be focusing on refunding super energy (intellect). Unless they threw a curveball and make it focus on class ability which gets a little messy because its source of cooldown varies from class to class. -In general there should be a central theme of blinding, ramping up damage (in abilities and possibly weapons), chaining, a little damage resistance (either in super or just for titan), extending supers or refunding super energy, and an improvement to speed.

  • I would like Arc 3.0 fragments and aspects to have more emphasis on the magnetic part of electromagnetism that changes the class wholesale. Charge/discharge is a key verb that has multiple use cases in buffing guardians and debuffing enemies. Aesthetically, I want enemies (minor) to be suspended in the air with the ballistic missile/fist of havoc with bolts of electricity coming out like the dark bomb attack from Jak 2/3.

Also I'd be down with an Aspect that let's you eat your grenade to arcstaff reflect projectiles. I'd also like to see tempest strike bind enemies or have the ability to slam after the initial uppercut with the arcstaff

  • I was talking with my friends about what I personally think should be done for hunters since I am a hunter main. When you mentioned that they should add a new type of super to the arc subclass I was happy to see that I wasn't the only one thinking this. I feel the hunter arc subclass as it is right now is extremely underwhelming and hoping that they can update it to fit the sandbox these day. We'll just have to wait and see.

  • My guesses for the 3 things arc 3.0 will focus on are these: blinding, chain lightning and a speed buff paired with faster ability regen. Blinding is already a debuff that has been tied to arc abilities. Chain lightning would seem to be a good counterpart to volatile and scorch. In this case, maybe kills or hits chain arc damage to nearby enemies. And finally there would be some kind of general buff that includes speed but additionally some other benefit like faster reloads or faster ability cooldowns. I think it would be cool with reload speed, like if it was the strongest buff to reload in the game to give it a niche, making DPS with things like rockets or Izanagi's even stronger.

Like you can throw the staff once lika a 1 and done super but the staff locks down a large radius just like how the Fanatic does his AOE arc attacks. Would be awesome to give more Hunters ways to lock down areas and to give then a quick super to pop and leave

  • Arc 3.0 will focus on static charges from what I've been told by my bungie insider, lighting chaining damage will be lowered but instead build static charges amongst chained enemies, at 100 static charge the enemies magnetize to each other think tether from void hunter being a singular or multiple enemies that pull other statically charged enemies toward them, and finally after enough damage is done after a magnetize the enemies will burst in arc energy, then the 3 buffs/ debuffs we can gain tied to arc 3.0 will be blinding disorienting and speed boosts, i was teased that 1 fragment we will get will make it so enemies that burst also cause a blinding affect in addition, i asked if hunters will be getting a new super and i was told they were in debate to either add a new super for the arc staff or bring back blade dancer, which they decided they refused to say bcuz they wanted it to be a special surprise for all hunter mains, i was told zhalo supercell will be making its return as the season pass exotic next season that will synchronize with arc 3.0 and will be different from how it was in D1 to better define its self from risk runner, additionally risk runner trinity ghoul cloud strike and thunder lord will get an update so they get the ability to synergize with arc 3.0, with cloud strike getting a catalyst that will give it the ability for synergy, and finally exotic armor reworks for blight ranger raiju's harness and eternal warrior just to name a few, with eternal warrior increasing the damage of fist of havoc by dealing damage with fist of havoc and replacing the over shield with damage resistance, blight ranger further increasing damage of reflected damage but also building static charges at an increased rate to enemy's that have damage reflected then additionally the orbs dropped will unchanged, and finally raiju's harness will be completely reworked, it will be reworked by giving nearby allies damage resistance while blocking and it will collect damage while blocking that will build up to an attack that will have u throw your staff like a spear by holding the square button (for PS5) for massively increased damage think missle titan with the falling star but better(their words not mine) which will in turn end your super early, there was more i was told but this i felt was the most important

  • I think it would be interesting to see some kind of “build stacks to get a burst of damage” effect with arc like volatile and ignitions. Maybe the effect could be a lightning strike similar to Thunderlord and it could chain to nearby enemies?

  • 8:00 there is a decent chance it could become a grenade or class ability too, but i agree it is definitely coming back in some form

  • As a warlock main I think that having hunters with blink again would be very interesting. That might actually make their super more PVP viable.

  • You also have to remember each element has one subclass with updated grenade aspect. Hunter stasis, and warlock has void and solar. Maybe titans get arc?

  • An idea that they could do for another arc hunter super: lightning rod. Functions like the fanatics lightning storm but you toss the arc staff to a location for the storm to focus around. How do people feel about this idea?

  • Good video! I see Inertia override becoming a titan aspect. (same concept as sol invictus) also the only thing I would counter with is that bungie doesnt make u invest for everything. Perfect example for titan is lorelei helm. U dont even need sol invictus to get the helmet in great condition (but you can make it better with fragments sure.)

  • It would be interesting to see thundercrash getting a damage buff to be viable without cuirass but have cuirass work like Star eaters and grants more damage based on a stack of orbs you have or something along the lines of that.

  • I think from a Hunter perspective it's identity is fundamentals , melees, dodges, sprint speed it does a good buffing those and adding some synergy within those. While warlock was more of a range add clearer with focus on abilities, chain lighting, it's the only range melee in Arc currently, Arc buddy that allies can get

  • You know what I think would be cool as someone who plays a lot of hunter? Mask of bakris working for arc subclasses on top of stasis. The shift dodge ability seems like something they could put into arcstrider and then mask of bakris would be the best version of that shift ability. Give arcstrider lots of cool stuff and this and I'll really like it already.
